- Observe and report safety hazards, suspicious activity and policy violations
- Respond calmly to incidents, using de-escalation and communication first

Armed Security Officer
About the role
We only place armed officers where we've found a real need. You'll carry more responsibility than anyone else on site, so we look for people with steady judgment who see the firearm as a last resort, not an answer to every problem.

- Maintain constant control and safe handling of your firearm while on duty
- Follow Shepherd's written use-of-force policy and site post orders without exception
- Respond to alarms and incidents and coordinate with law enforcement
- Document every incident thoroughly and accurately, including any use of force

- Sound judgment, composure and excellent report-writing skills

Mobile Patrol Officer
$28.00–$40.00 per hour
Mobile Patrol Officer
About the role
You'll drive a marked, camera-equipped Shepherd vehicle between client properties, checking doors, gates and parking lots, and responding when an alarm goes off. It suits people who like working on their own and don't mind the night shift.

- Perform lock-up and unlock checks and secure open doors and gates
- Respond to alarm activations and dispatch calls, then document findings
- Report hazards such as lighting outages, damage or trespassing

- Valid California driver's license and a driving record that meets our insurer's requirements
- Comfort working independently, often overnight

- Respond to escalated incidents and support officers on the scene
