Accountability is part of our service. Here is how to check an officer and how to tell us about a problem.
Verify a Shepherd officer
Every security officer in California must carry a valid state guard card on duty. If you are unsure whether someone is a Shepherd officer:
- Ask to see the officer's guard card. It shows their name and BSIS registration number.
- Check the registration on the state's free license search. Choose Security and Investigative Services, then Security Guard, and search by name or number.
- Call our 24/7 dispatch at (424) 484-3890 to confirm the officer is on a Shepherd assignment at that location.
You can also confirm Shepherd's company license, PPO No. 479840, on the same license search.
Report a concern
We take every report seriously. Tell us what happened, and a manager outside the officer's chain of supervision will review it. You may report anonymously, but leaving contact details lets us follow up with you.
